ITIL and ITSM are not viable without a solid foundation. And that's where the CMDB comes in! This third abbreviation is a significant performance indicator for the success of a ITIL & ITSM oriented organization. And any self respecting IT department or organization should have an up-to-date and accurate Configuration Management Database to their disposal. At least in my opinion.
